Glossary Terms

Full Spectrum is the whole plant – cannabis extract with all cannabinoids including trace amount of THC, less than .3%. Has essential vitamins, minerals, and terpenes that give the cannabis plants its unique fragrance and add medicinal benefit for the healing of the body.

Broad spectrum is the whole plant minus the THC – a whole plant extract where the THC has been removed. Broad spectrum still delivers an entourage effect by using multiple parts of the plant, but is completely free of THC.

Isolate is Just CBD – purified CBD processed to remove all other cannabinoids, oils, plant material, waxes, & chlorophyll. It has no taste or smell. Isolates are found in skincare products and edibles, where taste and smell are important.

The full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils extracted from the plant work together to magnify the therapeutic benefits of each individual cannabinoids. This is commonly referred to as the “entourage effect.”

Forms of CBD and Indications:

  • Smokables (Pre-rolls and Vape pen) – If you’re drawn to CBD for its ability to work quickly, smoking oil or flower may be your best option.Method of Application – It’s the fastest way as the CBD is absorbed into the bloodstream via the lungs almost instantly.Potential Relief – Vaping or smoking is especially effective for those prone to panic attacks or anxiety. Lasts only about 1-2 hours in body
  • Oil Tinctures – oil and tinctures are the second fastest method of application. Often consumed sublingually (under tongue) and held there for approximately 30 seconds to absorb into the bloodstream.Potential Relief – Stress & Anxiety; systemic inflammation; chronic pain. Effects can be felt for 2-4 hours.
  • Topical – Often made into a salve or balm, CBD oil can also work well topically when experiencing pain, swelling or inflammation in a localized are of the body.Method of Application – Applied directly onto the affected body.

    Potential Relief – Acute inflammation, joint and muscle pain, skin irritations including redness, acne, and eczema. Lasts for 2-3 hours.

  • Capsules and Edibles – Consuming CBD as an ingestible is the slowest acting form. Method of Application – Pre-portioned and marked with exact dosage so they are easy to monitor and consume.

    Potential Relief – insomnia, long term pain, digestive ailments. Last 4 and up to 12 hours
    based on dose.
